Servers

Hiding in utility closets around the world, far from the eyes of normal users, lie the things that make the information age possible: servers.  Thousands, millions, and even billions of dollars can be lost when they go down unexpectedly, so having a server that’s reliable is far more valuable than any one employee.  That’s why our servers use only the most reliable, batttle-tested parts.

Often, servers are built for specific tasks, like file-sharing, databases, or virtualization, so the examples below are by no means the limits of what we can do.  If you have something specific in mind, give us a call and we’ll give you a quote on a server that fits your exact needs without breaking the bank.

Prices are only listed in ranges since they constantly fluctuate. Also, these systems are suggestions, and can be purchased as is, or customized to your preferences. Please give us a call to get an exact quote.

Home NAS

Don’t wait to think about backup until it’s too late. Over the years, I have had to give the same sad news to so many people: all your wedding photos, all your baby pictures, all your financial documents are gone forever. Maybe a data recovery service that costs over $1000 dollars can retrieve that data, but maybe they can’t.

You could get an external USB hard drive, and that is better than nothing. But it can only backup one PC, isn’t really convenient if your household only uses laptops, and doesn’t have any redundancy in and of itself.

Instead, invest a network-attached storage (NAS) server. A NAS is basically a smart hard drive which plugs into your wired network. That way, any device, wired or wireless, can access it any time. Plus, since the Io 120 comes standard with two 2 TB hard drives in a “mirrored array”, where each drive functions as a backup of the other.

Also, a NAS can also make cloud backups, to prevent data loss in case of fire or natural disaster. And, it can function as a home media server for your videos, photos, and music.
